My Heart’s Cry

I reconnected to a dear friend of mine a few days ago.

As we shared our hearts to each other, I was convicted by the Holy Spirit that I have misjudged her intentions about a new business venture she was on.

This led us to talking about the intentions of the heart.

Yes, the Scriptures do say that “the┬áheart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)

However, isn’t Jeremiah talking about the heart that has not been made new?

In Ezekiel 36, God says this: “I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” (v. 26)

So, those who have been born again, should have hearts that are after God’s own heart.

My prayer for the last 6 years has been to see people as God sees them, to love like He does, and to have my heart break for what breaks His heart.

I should probably make this disclaimer: if you are ready to pray this prayer, be ready to have your heart break over and over again…

For those that are hurting…

For those who are in chains…

For those that are lost…

For those who have no hope…

For those who are mocking you…

For those who are spitting in your face (at least not literally but with words)…

God loved… and He gave…

How much do we give back?

Could it be that the measure of how much we love those around us and how much we give back is related to how much we understand God’s true character and His love for us? All of us?

I fear that we have gone so far from the true Gospel…

I fear that we have gone so far from what Jesus has taught us…

I fear that we have created a god into our own image, claiming that he is the God of the Bible…

And because of that, people around us are no longer attracted to Jesus.

This is why I write…

Not because I am angry. (Although I am angry at the hypocrisy and the pharisism I see in the Church.)

Some of you may have misjudged my intentions, thinking I am only out to bash the Slavic churches.

No.

I love the Slavic people.

I am Slavic.

But I love Jesus more. And I see His heart, which was and is for the hurting, for the captives, for the sinners…

And the enemy tries really heard to hide Jesus with man-made traditions, with hypocrisy, with church politics, with everything that the Church is putting above Jesus…

Satan came to “kill, steal, and destroy,” but Jesus came to give life and an abundant life (John 10:10).

What happens then is people, young and old everywhere, don’t want to have anything to do with God who is represented by those who claim to believe in Him.

Oh, but we love our doctrines more than Jesus, claiming that God only chooses to save some and not all.

Christians are the biggest stumbling block to unbelievers…

We are.

As long as we continue to hold our traditions above Jesus and as long as we remain prideful, we will keep seeing young people leave the churches…

This is why I write and this is why I will keep writing…

  1. I’m sorry you are being faced with these difficulties. It can be very challenging to try and help others understand your perspective specially when they are unwilling to listen. I pray for God’s peace upon you and your family. Stay true to your relationship with God and He will continually provide you with tranquility.
